Where: East of Ocotillo, California, about three miles north of the border

This is one of a number of water stations set out by volunteers for people crossing the border illegally in the remote desert near Ocotillo. I saw a bunch of the water stations as I drove along state route 98. The North County Times did a story last year on the volunteer effort, which has the federal government's blessing.
In the next week or so, I'll post several more photos from my drive from San Diego to El Centro that day.
