Got back from vacation on Thursday and noticed that my photoblog, which normally gets a few dozen visitors a day, had become a bit more popular overnight. And by "a bit more popular," I mean "Geez, my traffic just went through the roof. What happened?"
Here's what: Mark S. Luckie of the journalism and technology blog 10,000 Words had listed 30 amazing photoblogs, and The Occasional Odd Crop was among them. I'm stunned that anybody thinks I belong in that kind of company. Because of Mark's list, Rick at I Love Photoblogs, a site that's new to me but that I now follow, wrote a post about The Occasional Odd Crop. Thanks, Rick!
As a journalist trying to figure out my industry's changing landscape, I've found 10,000 Words a great place to turn for perspective and practical resources. I also won an Amazon gift certificate from 10,000 Words because of my knowledge of art combined with some Google-fu.
