And next door ... We were in Torrance to attend the reception of a group art show that includes one of Dani's paintings. The group went to Manzanar for a workshop a few months ago, and the paintings were inspired by the visit. The workshop was started more than a decade ago by Henry Fukuhara, a painter who was interned at Manzanar during World War II.
On the right-hand side of the photo, you can see one of the paintings in the show, by the great Al Setton.
The show runs through Sept. 13. If you're in the area, you should check it out. If you see something you like but can't quite afford, well, I know where you can get some quick cash.
