Where: Bergamot Station, Santa Monica, California

When: March 22, 2008

A great place for art: Bergamot Station is one of my favorite places in Southern California. It has nearly three dozen art galleries, so there's always something interesting to see. (On Saturday, among other things, there were photos by Henri Cartier-Bresson and Martin Parr, about which more later.)

But beyond that, the place is a photographer's dream. It's a former manufacturng area, and it retains some of that flavor. Add to that Bergamot's artsy, modern touches, and you've got yourself a feast for the eyes, inside and out.
