Notes: I'll be honest: I'm not sure I knew the birds were there when I shot this photo. I was aiming more or less northeast, and it was late afternoon, so there was a lot of glare on my LCD screen. I knew the shapes were interesting, given the breakers and the contrast between dark rocks and much lighter water. Still, I couldn't see every detail of what I was shooting. I don't remember thinking, "Those cormorants flying by make this a pretty cool shot." But they do.
